The Santa Ana Trunk Sewer Rehabilitation Project has started construction in the City of Santa Ana. Crews are performing preconstruction and exploration work along the project alignment. This work involves carefully excavating holes to locate and verify underground utilities for safety and efficient construction. Â Â Â

Upcoming Work
Crews will begin installing a temporary bypass system of above-ground pipes and equipment to safely reroute sewer flow and maintain uninterrupted service during construction. Following bypass installation, crews will rehabilitate the sewer pipe. Â
Location: Alton Ave. between Raitt St. and Fairview St. Also includes the surrounding streets of Greenville St. and Raitt St.

- Hours:
- Typical: Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.*
- Occasional Extended Work: Some construction activities will require 24/7 continuous work to safely complete certain operations. Additional notification will be provided in advance once dates are scheduled.
- Work Impacts:
- Traffic control barriers will be in place with lane closures and turn restrictions. Some will only be active during work hours, while others will remain in place 24/7.
- Bike lane on Alton Ave. between Raitt St. and Fairview St. will be closed.
- Northbound Greenville St., between Alton Ave. and Segerstrom Ave., will be closed during certain stages of construction. Signage will be posted and detours will be in place.
- Construction-related dust, noise, and increased activity may occur near the work area.

- When: Tuesday, April 28
- Hours: 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Work Impacts:
- Closure of northbound Greenville St. only.
- Detour using Fairview St. or Raitt St.
- Access to W. Garry Ave. via southbound Greenville St.

- Hours: 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Work Impacts:
- Northbound Raitt St. reduced down to one lane
- Closure of W. Garry Ave. between Alton Ave. and Segerstrom Ave.
- Detour using S. Douglas St. off Segerstrom Ave. or W. Garry Ave. off Bear St.

Project Description:
The Santa Ana Trunk Sewer Rehabilitation Project will rehabilitate portions of the Santa Ana Trunk sewer in the cities of Santa Ana and Costa Mesa. The project is relining almost 3 miles of existing sewer line to extend its service life. As part of this effort, over a dozen manholes will also be rehabilitated or replaced, and bypass pumps will be needed to reroute sewer flow and maintain service to the community.
The work will take place along Alton Avenue starting at Bristol Street and traverse across MacArthur Boulevard, Harbor Boulevard, Hyland Avenue, and Sunflower Avenue as shown in the map.
