Upcoming Work

LOCATION: Airway Avenue and Airport Loop Drive

A slurry seal will be placed over sections that were recently restored.

  • When: Thursday, August 6
  • Hours: Between 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • What to Expect: 
    • Temporary no parking along the curb where work will take place. No parking signage will be posted in advance.
    • Temporary traffic control while the work is being performed. 

Ongoing Work

LOCATION:  Main Street Pump Station, 1499 Main St., Irvine

Rehabilitating and constructing pipelines, pumps, and valves

  • When:  Ongoing – Summer 2026*
  • Work Hours:  Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.*
  • What to Expect:
    • Occasional reduced travel lanes on westbound Main St.
    • Increase in activity and noise levels

Project Description

This project will rehabilitate two parallel regional sewer pipelines, along a 1-mile stretch on Airway Avenue and Airport Loop Drive in the City of Costa Mesa, near the John Wayne Airport. The rehabilitation of the two pipelines must occur one at a time and will take place in separate phases.

Project elements also include improvements at the Main Street Pump Station.  See map below (blue line).
