The Orange County Sanitation District (OC San) will start construction later this month on the Los Alamitos Trunk Sewer Project. OC San will clean and inject chemical grout into the pipelines and rehabilitate or replace manholes along the highlighted section of the entire project area map (see below).

The project will be split into two phases:

  • Phase 1: Starts at Lexington Drive toward Katella Ave, then proceeding west toward Los Alamitos Blvd. – work will continue south on the northbound lanes of Los Alamitos Blvd. concluding in Seal Beach.
  • Phase 2: Starts at Oak St. toward Katella Ave. and proceeds east toward Los Alamitos Blvd. Work will continue south on the southbound lanes of Los Alamitos Blvd. concluding in Seal Beach.

Starting Location

Lexington Drive between Katella Ave. and Corporate Center Drive in the City of Cypress. Construction work will continue westward along Katella Avenue from Lexington Drive towards Los Alamitos Blvd. and head south. The manhole activity will follow shortly behind the line cleaning.

Schedule for Lexington Dr. and Katella Ave. only:

  • Mid-October 2021 – January 2022*
  • Nightwork
  • Sunday – Friday, from 8p.m. – 6 a.m.
  • Notification

Manhole rehabilitation work on Lexington Dr. only will be done during the day.  Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. 

*Dates and times are subject to change due to operational factors or inclement weather.

 What to Expect

  • Periodic traffic delays as a result of lane reductions and turn restrictions
  • Increased noise level
  • Certain bus stops along the route may be affected, please watch for posted signs and visit www.OCTA.net for details
