Construction continues on State College Blvd. in the City of Anaheim. Work is currently taking place from Orangewood Avenue to Ball Road.  Work between Orangewood and Katella will be completed by the end of March. A few updates to share:

March 27, 2019

State College Avenue: Katella to Orangewood

Paving between the intersections will take place March 27 – 28 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Landscaping in the center median from Artisan to Orangewood  will occur throughout the day. Travel lanes may be impacted.

State College & Katella intersection

Night work for water line abandonment. March 27 – 28, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Weekend work will occur at the Katella intersection March 29 – 31, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. See notice for details.

Howell Avenue to Ball Road

Sewer installation continues. Various operations occurring including open-cut installation (excavation) and jack & bore (tunneling under the street).
Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Water line installation at Cerritos Avenue will occur at night from March 27 – April 3. 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.

Orangewood Avenue intersection:

Nighttime work: weekdays 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Work at the intersection is extremely complex, this is the area where the 4-mile sewer replacement ends and where connections to other major trunk lines occur. Due to the nature of the work which requires multiple lane closures on both State College and Orangewood, as well as the very busy intersection, work in this area needs to occur at night.

Water line relocation at various locations is also taking place; however, it is occurring at night to minimize disruption to water service and avoid conflicts with the sewer replacement efforts.

**Due to the nature of the work, and the desire to complete the work as soon as possible, the sewer replacement at the major intersections will take place at different times, details to follow as construction progresses.

Project Description:
The project is replacing four miles of sewer along State College Boulevard from the SR-91 to Orangewood Avenue in the City of Anaheim. Construction began in summer 2018 and is scheduled to be completed in late 2020.  Once the project is complete, eight million gallons of wastewater will be diverted to OCSD’s Plant No. 1 in Fountain Valley for treatment before being send to the Groundwater Replenishment System.  This is Phase B of a two-phase project; Phase A was completed in 2017 and took place from Yorba Linda Blvd. to SR-91 in the City of Fullerton.
