Septic systems are underground wastewater treatment structures, commonly used in areas without centralized sewer systems. They digest organic matter and separate materials like oils and grease from the wastewater. Every home’s septic system is unique. Depending on the septic tank size and number of residents it serves, tanks are typically required to be pumped somewhere between every three to five years. Also, the Environmental Protection Agency recommends your septic system should be inspected at least every three years by a septic service professional. Please do your part and keep your tanks clean and up to date.
Remember, whether you have a septic tank or not, the 3 Ps still apply. You should only flush pee, poop, and toilet paper down your toilet.
