Sewer construction is moving along on the Orange Western Trunk Sewer Project with the next phase of work set to begin in the cities of Buena Park and Anaheim. Crews will be performing manhole rehabilitation and pipe replacement work. This work is essential to enhance the condition of the regional sewer infrastructure.
Upcoming Work:

City of Buena Park

Manhole rehabilitation work will take place on the northbound lane of Western Ave. from Crescent Ave. to Filmore Dr. heading south. Work at each manhole location should only take 1-2 days to complete.

• Where: Western Ave. between Crescent Ave. to Filmore Dr.
• When: Starting week of November 28 and lasting approximately 2 weeks*
• Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. 
• Impacts: Lane closures and potential turn restrictions

City of Anaheim

Manhole Rehabilitation will occur on northbound Western Ave. between Lincoln Ave. to Bridgeport Ave. and then move onto Orange Ave. between Via Vico Circle and Venada Dr.

• Where: Western Ave. between Lincoln Ave. to Bridgeport Ave. with work following onto Orange Ave. between Via Vico Circle and Venada Dr.
• When: Week of December 5 – end of December 2022*
• Work Hours: Monday – Friday Weekdays, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. 
• Impacts: Lane closures and potential turn restrictions

Pipe replacement work on Orange Avenue

• Where: Orange Ave. between Knott Ave. and Danbrook Dr.
• When: Week of December 5 – end of December 2022*
• Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.
• Impacts: No parking on north side of street, lane closures, and potential turn restrictions

Ongoing Work:  

City of Cypress 

Pipeline and manhole repair work will be performed on Orange Ave. between Valley View St. and Holder Street over the next few months.

To ensure the safety of the community and our crew portions of this work require permanent placement of traffic control along the work area. This means the use of concrete barriers to separate the work zone from the travel lanes.

• Where: Orange Ave. between Valley View St. to Holder St.
• When: Ongoing – March 2023*
• Work Hours: Weekdays, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
• Impacts:
  • • • Juanita Street closure onto Orange Avenue. To reach Orange Avenue travel south on Juanita Avenue to Ball Road to either Valley View Street or Holder Street (this closure will only be in place through early January 2023).
      • Lane reductions and turn restriction.
      • Parking restrictions
      • Crosswalk closures

  Project Description

  Manholes and sections of sewer pipeline on Western Avenue and Orange Avenue in the Cities of Buena Park, Anaheim, and Cypress will be rehabilitated to extend their service life. OC San will clean and inject chemical grout into the pipelines and rehabilitate or replace manholes along the highlighted section of the entire project area map. Small segments of pipe will also be replaced.
