The Orange Western Trunk Sewer Project continues in Cypress and has now commenced pipe replacement activity and manhole rehabilitation work in Anaheim.

 

City of Anaheim

LOCATION: Western Ave. between Tyler Ave. to Del Monte Dr.

In preparation for the sewer work, traffic control consisting of concrete barriers and cones, has been placed along the construction work area on Western Ave. To perform the work and keep service intact, it will also be necessary to install pumps that will allow the sewer flow to be bypassed or rerouted further downstream.

The center travel lanes will be restricted and there will be one travel lane in each direction open for thru traffic.

This work will be completed in three phases. They will happen continuously and are expected to be completed by May 2023.

Please follow all posted traffic signs for your safety and the safety of our crew. Expect delays and plan your commute accordingly. Alternate routes are suggested.

Phase 1

  • When: March  – May 2023*
  • Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7 p.m. – 5 a.m.
    • Day work will be performed intermittently throughout March from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

  • Lane reductions and turn restrictions
  • Parking restrictions
  • Noise and dust
  • Permanent traffic control until work is completed

City of Cypress 

Work continues along Orange Ave. between Valley View St. and Holder St. Pipeline and manhole repair work is being performed.

Permanent traffic control is placed along the work area. To ensure your safety and of our crews please follow all posted signs and drive with caution.

  • Where: Orange Ave. between Valley View St. to Holder St.
  • When: Ongoing – mid-March 2023*
    • After the current work is completed, construction crews will return in April to complete street restoration.
  • Work Hours: Weekdays, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Impacts:
    • Lane reductions and turn restriction.
    • Parking restrictions
    • Crosswalk closures
    • Certain bus stops along the route may be affected, please watch for posted signs and visit www.OCTA.net for details.

*Dates and times are subject to change due to operational factors or inclement weather.

Project Description

Manholes and sections of sewer pipeline on Western Avenue and Orange Avenue in the Cities of Buena Park, Anaheim, and Cypress will be rehabilitated to extend their service life. OC San will clean and inject chemical grout into the pipelines and rehabilitate or replace manholes along the highlighted section of the entire project area map. Small segments of pipe will also be replaced.Â
