The Orange Western Trunk Sewer Project is continuing with sewer pipe repair work and manhole rehabilitation. We appreciate your patience as this work is being done to enhance the aging infrastructure to extend the life of the regional sewer system.

LOCATION: Orange Avenue between Knott Ave and Western Ave.

The sewer pipe is being replaced along a portion of Orange Ave. Bypass pumps are required to reroute the sewer flow to allow for the repair to be completed without interrupting service to the community. This specific activity requires the use of both permanent and temporary traffic control to successfully complete the work. This will reduce traffic lanes and impact street parking until the work is completed.

• When: Ongoing – October 2023*
• Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
• Impacts: Lane reductions and parking restrictions.

LOCATION: Western Ave. between Tyler Ave. to Del Monte Dr.

The regional sewer pipe on Western Ave. needs to be replaced. This requires excavation, shoring installation, and dewatering to safely perform the work. A bypass system is also necessary to reroute the sewer to maintain uninterrupted service. This operation is complex which prolongs the amount of time needed to perform the work.

Day Work

• Work Hours: Monday – Friday; 8 a.m. – 9 p.m., Occasional Saturdays
• Impacts: Lane reductions

Project Description

Manholes and sections of sewer pipeline on Western Avenue and Orange Avenue in the Cities of Buena Park, Anaheim, and Cypress will be rehabilitated to extend their service life. OC San will clean and inject chemical grout into the pipelines and rehabilitate or replace manholes along the highlighted section of the entire project area map. Small segments of pipe will also be replaced.
