OCSD Enhances Economy and Captures it in CIP Annual Report
OCSD is often times looked upon as a silent utility. Once the water goes down the drain, little thought is given to what happens next. But at OCSD, we think about it all the time. Our service is vital, crucial, and critical to our everyday lives. OCSD collects, treats, recycles, and disposes of 189 million gallons of wastewater every single day. To do that, OCSD needs reliable and sustainable infrastructure. OCSD’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) is a 20-year plan to maintain and replace the infrastructure required to execute this function on a daily basis. While OCSD’s mission is to protect public health and the environment, it also supports the local economy with its robust CIP.
In the next 12 months OCSD will be shovel ready on $550 million of construction contracts for over 25 projects. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic OCSD has continued to plan and prepare for the well-being of Orange County’s future.
