The local section of the California Water Environment Association (CWEA), Santa Ana River Basin Section (SARBS) has announced their awards that recognize those who are making waves in the wastewater industry. As an active participant in SARBS, OC San competes with other Regional Wastewater Treatment Facilities for both facility (treatment plants, collection systems) and individual awards (Operator of the Year, Maintenance Technician of the Year). OC San was recognized with four awards this year.

• Operator of the Year – Gold – Michael Huls
• Collection System Person of the Year – Steve Grande
• Collection System of the Year, 200 – 500 miles
• Gimmicks and Gadgets – Alkaline Enhanced Iron Odor Control
