Night Work to Remove K-rail on Newport Blvd
JANUARY 30, 2019 – A new guard rail has been installed along Newport Blvd. between Hospital Rd. and Industrial Way in the City of Newport Beach. With the new guard rail in place, portions of the k-rail concrete barriers that were temporarily set up will be removed January 30 from 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. There will be lane closures on northbound Newport Blvd. to accommodate this work.
Also starting soon, crews will be working on manhole covers in the City of Costa Mesa. Manholes are located along Superior Avenue, 16th Street, Ohms Way, Farad Street, and Pomona Avenue.
Work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.*

In addition to manhole work in Costa Mesa, work continues along Newport Blvd. between Hospital Rd. and Industrial Way, including the installation of a new guardrail. The k-rail concrete barriers will be removed after the guardrail is installed.

Project Description:
The Newport Blvd. District 6 Trunk Sewer Relief construction project will replace an existing 60 year old regional sewer pipeline with a larger sewer pipeline to increase the sewer flow capacity and reduce the risk of spills. Construction will take place along Newport Blvd. between Pacific Coast Highway and Industrial Way in the City of Newport Beach and Pomona Ave and 17th St in the City of Costa Mesa.
