Night Work Paving on Newport Blvd
All major sewer work is complete and now its time to pave and restore the street to its normal condition. Only miscellaneous work items remain. Paving activities will occur Monday, April 1 during the night hours starting as early as 6 p.m.
Travel lanes on Newport Blvd. may be impacted to accommodate this work:
- Newport Boulevard south of Coast Highway (Via lido)
- Between Short Street and Coast Highway bridge
- Southbound Newport Boulevard lane closures
- Traffic control will begin set up starting at 6 p.m.
- Paving activities anticipated to be completed before 11 p.m.
- Newport Boulevard north of Coast Highway
- Between Hospital Road and Industrial Way
- Northbound Newport Boulevard lane closures
- Paving activities will begin after Via Lido paving is completed

Project Description:
The Newport Blvd. District 6 Trunk Sewer Relief construction project will replace an existing 60 year old regional sewer pipeline with a larger sewer pipeline to increase the sewer flow capacity and reduce the risk of spills. Construction will take place along Newport Blvd. between Pacific Coast Highway and Industrial Way in the City of Newport Beach and Pomona Ave and 17th St in the City of Costa Mesa.
Additional work will take place along Newport Blvd. near Via Lido (not shown on map).
