Happy Holidays from OC San. As you enjoy the season with your loved ones, OC San will continue to focus on improving the regional sewer system.

Manhole work on southbound Los Alamitos Blvd. is wrapping up next week. Crews will briefly return to Oak St. to complete the work that was started during the summer and can now be completed during the school’s winter break.

Following work is weather permitting:

Oak Street from Katella Ave. to Florista St. 

  • When: Week of December 26, 2022
  • Hours: Monday Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Impacts: Parkin restrictions and lane reductions as work is occurring.

Intersection of Los Alamitos Blvd. and Katella Ave.

Nightwork at the intersection is almost complete. Final street restoration is scheduled for the first week of 2023. This will require a 24-hour lane closure to allow for the concrete to properly set and cure.

  • Where: Eastbound Katella Avenue and Los Alamitos Blvd.
  • When: Tuesday, January 3 at 8 p.m. to Thursday, January 5 at 6 a.m.*
  • Where: Southbound Los Alamitos Blvd. at Katella Avenue
  • When: Thursday, January 5 at 8 p.m. to Saturday, January 7 at 6 a.m. 
  • Impacts:
    • Lane closures and turn restrictions
    • Increased noise level
    • Access to all properties will be maintained

 Project Description

OC San is rehabilitating two parallel sewers on north and southbound Seal Beach Blvd./ Los Alamitos Blvd., and along Katella Avenue, Oak Street, and Lexington Drive in the cities of Seal Beach and Los Alamitos. The work consists of removing calcium buildup at various pipe joints and injecting chemical grout to strengthen the pipe. Rehabilitation and/or replacement of over 70 manholes will also take place.
