Cloudy days and rainy nights caused some construction delays. Now, with projected sunny days ahead, the Los Alamitos Trunk Sewer Project can continue.

Los Alamitos – night work

Street restoration work is taking place at Katella Ave. and Los Alamitos Blvd. This nighttime activity will consist of street restoration and will be done over a three-day period.

  • When: Wednesday, April 12 -Friday, April 14* 
  • Where: Katella Ave. at Oak St. to Los Alamitos Blvd., southbound on Los Alamitos Blvd. to Hedwig Rd.
  • Work Hours: Nightwork; 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.

 

Seal Beach

Manhole construction work will resume this week as well in the City of Seal Beach. The work will take place near the 405 northbound freeway on ramp off Old Ranch Pkwy. This may result in delays in accessing the freeway, alternate routes are encouraged. Please allow extra time when traveling in this area.

  • When: Thursday, April 13 – Friday, April 14*
  • Where: 405 northbound freeway onramp at Old Ranch Pkwy.
  • Work Hours: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

*Dates and times are subject to change due to operational factors or inclement weather.

Impacts:

  • Lane reductions as work is occurring.
  • Increased noise, mitigation measures in place.
  • Please allow extra time when traveling in this area.

 Project Description

OC San is rehabilitating two parallel sewers on north and southbound Seal Beach Blvd./ Los Alamitos Blvd., and along Katella Avenue, Oak Street, and Lexington Drive in the cities of Seal Beach and Los Alamitos. The work consists of removing calcium buildup at various pipe joints and injecting chemical grout to strengthen the pipe. Rehabilitation and/or replacement of over 70 manholes will also take place.
