Construction continues on the Airway-Airport Loop Sewer Rehabilitation project. The project rehabilitates two regional sewer pipelines, occurring in separate phases, to ensure continuous and uninterrupted sewer service.
LOCATION:Â Airway Avenue and Airport Loop Drive, Costa Mesa
- What: As part of the pipeline replacement work, crews are working on the final connections followed by restoration. Excavations will be filled in and the street will be returned to conditions prior to construction.Â
- When: Ongoing – Fall 2025*
- Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m., some activities may require work outside normal working hours.
- What to Expect:Â
- At least one travel lane in each direction.
- Increase in activity and noise levels
LOCATION:Â Main Street Pump Station, 1499 Main St., Irvine
- What:Â Rehabilitating and constructing pipelines, pumps, and valves
- When:Â Ongoing – Fall 2025*
- Work Hours:Â Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- What to Expect:
- Occasional reduced travel lanes on westbound Main St.
- Increase in activity and noise levels

Project Description
This project will rehabilitate two parallel regional sewer pipelines, along a 1-mile stretch on Airway Avenue and Airport Loop Drive in the City of Costa Mesa, near the John Wayne Airport. The rehabilitation of the two pipelines must occur one at a time and will take place in separate phases.
