Day Work is COMING SOON to the cities of Los Alamitos and Seal Beach.
The first activity you’ll notice is potholing, this is done to identify and locate underground utilities in preparation for the manhole replacement effort. Once completed, the manhole work will commence.
- When: Starting the week of June 6th until end of June
- Where: Oak St. to Katella Ave. to Los Alamitos Blvd. (see map below)
- Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.*
Night work continues along southbound Los Alamitos Blvd/Seal Beach Blvd. for pipe cleaning and chemical grouting which helps reinforce the pipe. This work is done at night when sewer flows are low, Sunday – Friday, 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.*
Coming up:
At the end of the month manhole replacement will begin and continue through the summer.

What to Expect:
- Periodic traffic delays as a result of lane reductions and turn restrictions
- Increased noise level
- Lane closures

As a reminder, this project is cleaning the existing sewer line, reinforcing the pipe joints with chemical grout, and repairing/rehabilitating/replacing the manholes. Further details about the project can be found in the fact sheet.

Project Description
OC San is rehabilitating two parallel sewers on north and southbound Seal Beach Blvd./ Los Alamitos Blvd., and along Katella Avenue, Oak Street, and Lexington Drive in the cities of Seal Beach and Los Alamitos. The work consists of removing calcium buildup at various pipe joints and injecting chemical grout to strengthen the pipe. Rehabilitation and/or replacement of over 70 manholes will also take place.
