Operators are the eyes and ears of the Plants. They operate, monitor, and maintain plant equipment so the Plants run as they are intended to. Our operators work around the clock ensuring we are able to perform our essential function of treating wastewater and are considered a a very crucial part of our workforce.
Every year, fellow operators and management nominate their colleagues to be the Operator of the Year. This is a big deal as the selected person represents each Plant and sets a standard for other operators. This year the selection was tough, as it is every year, but a choice was made for each Plant.
Anthony Chang from Plant No. 1 and Matt Connor from Plant No. 2 are this year’s Operators of the Year.
Both Anthony and Matt have helped OC San by going above and beyond to help maintain and strengthen our wastewater treatment process through their strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Anthony’s professional approach to leadership, problem solving, and teaching staff is greatly appreciated. Matt’s teamwork approach, work ethic, process knowledge, problem solving/troubleshooting abilities, and professionalism are greatly appreciated by all at Plant No. 2.
While both Anthony and Matt are great OC San representatives only one could be nominated to the Santa Ana River Basin section of the California Water Environment Association Operator of the Year competition. We are pleased to announce that Anthony will partake in the regional competition, if selected as the winner he will then move on to the statewide competition. We wish Anthony the best of luck and thank both him and Matt for their dedication to OC San.
