Cypress Trunk Sewer
We’re making great progress on the Cypress Trunk Sewer Project! Crews are hard at work throughout the project area, keeping things on track and moving safely. Soon, we’ll be headed to the City of Los Alamitos, where we plan to start some quick prep work before the end of the year, similar to what we’ve done in Cypress.
These upgrades are a big step toward keeping our regional sewer system reliable and ready for the future. Our crews are working efficiently to minimize impacts on nearby neighborhoods while completing this important work.
Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming work:
City of Cypress:
Location: Starting near the intersection of Denni. St. and Ball Rd., moving south on Denni. St. (see map below).
Work will take place during low-flow hours at night and include pipe inspection, cleaning, and grouting.

Project Description:
The regional sewer line in the cities of Cypress, Los Alamitos, and La Palma is approximately 50 years old and in need of upgrades. The Cypress Trunk Sewer Project will focus on enhancing about 7 miles of sewer, replacing portions of the pipe with larger diameter pipe to increase the capacity, or rehabilitating other segments of pipe to extend the life of the sewer system. Approximately 100 manholes will also be replaced and/or rehabilitated. These repairs will extend the life of the sewer pipes by another 50 years.
Schedule:
Construction is anticipated to begin in Summer 2025 and last approximately 3 years.
