UPDATED – WORK OCCURING IN SEAL BEACH NEXT WEEK – DETAILS BELOW

Manhole rehabilitation work continues in the City of Los Alamitos as part of the regional sewer improvement project. A segment of work will take place that will require lane closures on northbound Los Alamitos Blvd. at Katella Avenue for a couple of days.

NEW ACTIVITY

Los Alamitos Blvd. at Katella Ave.

Manhole rehabilitation work will take place on northbound Los Alamitos Blvd. with lane restrictions from Howard Ave. to Katella Ave. in the City of Los Alamitos. A small portion of work will be happening along Los Alamitos Blvd. and Katella Avenue that will conclude with concrete pouring around the manhole being rehabilitated. To complete this work safely and in a timely manner, lane closures are required for the concrete to harden.

  • When: Thursday, May 18 to Saturday, May 20, 2023* (continuous closure during this time)
  • Where: Northbound Los Alamitos Blvd. from Howard Ave. to Katella Ave.
  • Work Hours: Thursday 8 p.m. to Saturday6 a.m.

ONGOING WORK

Katella Ave. & Los Alamitos Blvd.

Street restoration work that was postponed due to rain will resume in Los Alamitos along Katella Ave. and merging onto southbound Los Alamitos Blvd.

  • When: Ongoing through May 2023*
  • Where: Katella Ave. from Oak St. to southbound Los Alamitos Blvd. to Hedwig Road
  • Work Hours: Monday – Friday; 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.

UPCOMING ACTIVITY

Seal Beach

Manhole rehabilitation work in the City of Seal Beach is resuming this month. Daywork and nightwork will be required for different work areas. There are approximately half a dozen manholes that need varying levels of rehabilitation extending from a couple of days at each location to a couple of weeks.

NIGHTWORK

Starting Week of May 22, 2023

  • Where: Southbound Seal Beach Blvd. from Bradbury Rd. to Lampson Ave.
  • When:  Week of May 22*
  • Work Hours: Monday – Friday; 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.
  • Noise restrictions in place after 10 p.m.

Noise restrictions in place after 10 p.m. Starting Week of May 30, 2023*

  • Where: Intersection of Seal Beach Blvd. and Lampson Ave.
  • When:  Week of May 30 through June 2023*
  • Work Hours: Monday – Friday; 6 p.m. – 6 a.m.
  • Noise restrictions in place after 10 p.m.

Daywork

  • Where: Old Ranch Pkwy
  • When:  Week of May 30 – for approximately two weeks *
  • Work Hours: Monday – Friday; 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

 

 

 

*Dates and times are subject to change due to operational factors or inclement weather.

Impacts:

  • Lane reductions as work is occurring.
  • Increased noise, mitigation measures in place.
  • Please allow extra time when traveling in this area.

 Project Description

OC San is rehabilitating two parallel sewers on north and southbound Seal Beach Blvd./ Los Alamitos Blvd., and along Katella Avenue, Oak Street, and Lexington Drive in the cities of Seal Beach and Los Alamitos. The work consists of removing calcium buildup at various pipe joints and injecting chemical grout to strengthen the pipe. Rehabilitation and/or replacement of over 70 manholes will also take place.
