Upcoming Work
Work will be progressing on Airway Avenue near McCormick Avenue and along Airport Loop Drive. This will require restriping the roadway and setting k-rail at designated excavation pit locations. Some of the restriping work will need to occur at night. All other work will occur during the day.
- When: Starting as early as Wednesday, January 23
- Work Hours: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., Monday – Friday
Impacts
- Travel lanes reconfigured with reduced street parking.
- Increased noise due to construction activity.
- A lane of travel in each direction will remain.
- Please drive with caution with the new street striping layout.
The new work area continues along Airway Avenue and onto Airport Loop Drive.
Current Work
Work is currently taking place on Airway Avenue between Baker Street and McCormick Avenue.

Project Description
This future project will rehabilitate two parallel regional sewer pipelines, along a 1-mile stretch on Airway Avenue and Airport Loop Drive in the City of Costa Mesa, near the John Wayne Airport. The rehabilitation of the two pipelines must occur one at a time and will take place in separate phases.
Project elements also include improvements at the Main Street Pump Station. See map below (blue line).
